About

Gustav Mahler (1860–1911) was an Austro-Bohemian composer and conductor, one of the most important figures of the late Romantic era. His large-scale symphonies and song cycles are known for their emotional depth and orchestral ambition. His Symphony No. 8, nicknamed "Symphony of a Thousand," calls for massive forces of soloists, choirs, and orchestra.
