Amalia Hernández (1917–2000) was a Mexican choreographer and dancer who founded the Ballet Folklórico de México in 1952. She transformed traditional Mexican folk dances into elaborate theatrical productions, blending regional costumes, music, and movement. The company became a cultural ambassador for Mexico, with a long-standing residency at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.
