Count Basie (1904–1984) was an American jazz pianist, organist, bandleader, and composer. He led the Count Basie Orchestra, one of the most influential big bands in jazz history, known for its swinging rhythm section and blues-infused style. His notable works include "One O'Clock Jump" and "April in Paris."
