Stanley Clarke is an American jazz bassist and composer, widely regarded as a pioneer of the electric bass in jazz and fusion. A four-time Grammy winner and NEA Jazz Master, he rose to fame as a founding member of Return to Forever alongside Chick Corea. His 1976 album "School Days" remains a landmark of jazz-fusion bass playing.
