Stand-Up Comedy Class

Comedyschools.com is a stand-up comedy workshop now in its twenty-fourth year in the Valley. Past students have gone on to become regulars on Saturday Night Live, long-term cast members on shows including The Walking Dead, and have appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, HBO, and more.

Head Instructor Tony Vicich is a former touring stand-up comic who has appeared on Evening at the Improv, MTV ½ Hour Comedy Hour, The Showtime Comedy All Stars, and Comedy Central.

The workshops are open to everyone — not just aspiring comics — including CEOs, salespeople, and anyone looking for a new experience. Each round is 5 weeks / 10 classes long, held Mondays & Tuesdays, 7:30 PM–10 PM, and concludes with a Class Clowns Show at Tempe Improv. Each round begins on a Monday with a free intro class.

Round 1 — Begins Monday, January 5th (free intro); classes January 5–27 & February 2–3; Class Clowns Show: Wednesday, February 4th @ 7:30 PM

Round 2 — Begins Monday, February 9th (free intro); classes February 9–24 & March 2–10; Class Clowns Show: Wednesday, March 11th @ 7:30 PM

Round 3 — Begins Monday, March 16th (free intro); classes March 16–31 & April 6–14; Class Clowns Show: Wednesday, April 15th @ 7:30 PM

Round 4 — Begins Monday, April 20th (free intro); classes April 20–28 & May 4–19; Class Clowns Show: Wednesday, May 20th @ 7:30 PM

Round 5 — Begins Monday, May 25th (free intro); classes May 25–26 & June 1–23; Class Clowns Show: Wednesday, June 24th @ 7:30 PM

Round 6 — Begins Monday, June 29th (free intro); classes June 29–30 & July 6–28; Class Clowns Show: Wednesday, July 29th @ 7:30 PM

Round 7 — Begins Monday, August 3rd (free intro); classes August 3–25 & August 30–September 1; Class Clowns Show: Wednesday, September 2nd @ 7:30 PM

Round 8 — Begins Monday, September 7th (free intro); classes September 7–29 & October 5–6; Class Clowns Show: Wednesday, October 7th @ 7:30 PM
