Shapel Lacey

Shapel Lacey is a Los Angeles-based comedian born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. A former award-winning competitive cheerleader and self-described punk rocker, he was competing for the University of Louisville cheer team when someone dared him to try stand-up. He dropped out shortly after to pursue comedy full-time and never looked back. His background — adopted by a Caucasian family at age 15, a punk rock sensibility, and a commanding stage presence — gives him a distinctive voice in the comedy world. He was selected as a "New Face" at the 2019 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and now headlines clubs across the country.

Age policy: Thursday, Friday late, and Sunday shows are 18+; all other shows are 21+. A two-drink minimum per person applies inside the showroom. Valid photo ID is required for entry.

Seating is first come, first served unless you reserve a table. For table reservations, call the box office or email info@tempeimprov.com. Groups of 20 or more are eligible for exclusive food and beverage packages with guaranteed reserved seating — see the Groups tab on the Tempe Improv website for details.

Tickets are only available through tempeimprov.com. All sales are final; no refunds will be issued. Ticket resale is strictly prohibited, and tickets suspected of being purchased for resale will be cancelled at the discretion of Tempe Improv.
