Shapel Lacey
Tempe Improv, Tempe
Shapel Lacey is a Los Angeles-based comedian born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. A former award-winning competitive cheerleader and self-described punk rocker, he was cheerleading for the University of Louisville when someone dared him to try stand-up comedy — he dropped out shortly after to pursue it full-time. His background includes being adopted by a Caucasian family at age 15, and those distinct life experiences inform what he brings to the stage. He was selected as a "New Face" at the 2019 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and now headlines clubs across the country.
