Smart Cities & AI Innovations Symposium
Norman Hackerman Building (NHB) — Auditorium, Austin
The Smart Cities and AI Innovations Symposium is a day-long event bringing together professionals from academia, industry, government, research institutes, and non-profits to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping urban environments. It is held in the Norman Hackerman Building Auditorium on the University of Texas at Austin's main campus.
The program features speakers from leading universities across Texas and beyond, as well as practitioners working on smart mobility and AI applications. Topics include Large Language Models (LLMs), Digital Twins, Computer Vision, GeoAI, and Responsible AI, with a focus on ethical governance, smart infrastructure, and human-centered urban innovation.
Attendees can participate in interdisciplinary networking, including a relationship-building lunch. The symposium is organized by UT Austin researchers working on A Good System for Smart Cities, a core project of Good Systems — a university-wide, interdisciplinary research initiative focused on designing ethical AI technologies for the benefit of society.
Free and open to the public.
